On last Friday’s afternoon, I received a message from a dear friend of mine ‘Can we meet tonight?’. I could meet with her and the next message from her was ‘Great! Let’s go to La Casa del Vino!‘ I’ve never heard of this place before but wine on a rainy Friday night sounded perfect!
La Casa del Vino is a charming place for good wine and tango lovers. It was opened just a few months ago so not many people know about this place yet (that’s why you might get a table without booking beforehand). Once we entered the winery, we were surrounded by passionate Argentinian tango sounds, national Argentinian capes were hanging by the door for the ones who prefer to have their drinks outside and there also was a bookshelf full of Spanish books. It was easy to feel like we were in the middle of Argentina, at a local winery.
A friendly and kind owner of this place helped us a lot when choosing the wine. He told us a lot about their wine collection and the wine he suggested was truly delicious. We also tried their home-made pastries with curd and ordered a plate of snacks. The food was as good as the wine was!
There are a lot of great places in Vilnius to have a glass of wine but this one is my favorite so far. Nowhere else have I talked with a so passionate wine expert nor have I felt so special atmosphere.
