When it comes to choosing Summer travel destinations, wonderful beaches are quite important. One of the latest travel destinations of mine was to Cyprus and we chose the Famagusta area, known as a
Vathia Gonia beach
Definitelly my favorite beach in Famagusta area was Vathia Gonia. Shallow bay with white sand and calm water. When I together with the family came to this beach on one of the first evenings in Cyprus, it was a pink sky sunset and the bay looked marvelous. We came to the same beach many more times and all agreed it was our favorite one!

Nissi beach
Another enchanting beach close to Ayia Napa is Nissi beach. Quite large shallow beach is a for swimming or playing water games but what makes it is an island to which you can go by foot. You can even go up the hill and jump down the cliffs (or watch others do that). However, I must mention that it’s full of people and it might be difficult to find a free spot to chill and there also are a lot of bars where you can enjoy cold drinks and music. Disco at the beach!
Ammos Kambouri beach
We came by to this beach simply because of the heat (cycling on a hot day isn’t the smartest activity). A little bit further from the city center, it was like a secret beach with very few people. A lovely small beach perfect for those wanting some privacy and escape from the crowd.
Pantachou beach
Well, this beach is the main one, right in the city cente. White sand beach, clear blue water, lots of sun beds and enough space for everyone. On lazy days when all you want to do is to take just a few steps to the beach and enjoy the best beach day – it’s a perfect choice.
These are all the beaches we’ve visited during our trip to Cyprus that I liked. If you’re going to spend your vacation in Cyprus, I highly recommend visiting these beaches, I’m sure you’ll love them as well!
