Time flies, fellas! Since January I called London my home. The past ten months were incredible and taught me a lot but now it’s only one month left here before my boyfriend and I will move back to Vilnius. There’s no other city like London, this is where the whole world combines into one piece and that’s why it’s so significant.
What I love most about London are diversity and kindness. Only here you can be who you truly are or who you want to be and no one will judge you. I’ll always remember a man walking on a street and singing like Frank Sinatra, the woman sitting on the train’s floor and meditating, and all those people dressing in extraordinary clothes. Oh, and a little Indian girl with a lovely sari, wearing many sparkling bracelets and riding a skateboard, she looked adorable! For a person like me, who is always looking for inspiration, all those acts of a free-mind are incredibly important. In this city, I feel surrounded by many different people, cultures and attitudes but all together they’re exactly what I need!
However, despite my affection for London, I’m glad we’re leaving. It’s said, home is where your heart is. Well, my heart is where my boyfriend, family and friends are, which means it’s between London and Vilnius. I missed my hometown and family incredibly. So I’m glad all those I love will be close enough and I won’t need to use FaceTime so often. Besides, we’ll all be together during Christmas and I’m super excited about it!
We’re leaving on 6th December so it’s exactly one month left here and I’m ready to make it unforgettable! There’s no better way to feel the Christmas spirit than by visiting all the Christmas fairs and other attractions here in London. Thus I made a list of things I want to do until December in order to visit all the places I’ve never visited and enjoy the Christmas vibe!
Museums in London are significant and I thought I’ve visited all the main ones. But, you know what? I’ve never been at Tate Britain! So this is where I’ll definitely go during November.
London Jazz Festival
I love music, especially jazz so when I heard about London Jazz Festival, I knew I must go there! It’s London’s biggest pan-city music festival, taking place annually in November, which has long been acclaimed for showcasing a heady mix of talent from around the world. This year it’ll be taking place on 10-19 November. It’s more than one week so there’s no way I could miss it!
Well, and how’s London without Christmas markets, mulled wine and tons of attractions! I’ve made a list of Christmas fairs I want to visit and since most of them will be opened from mid-November, I’ll be able to visit all of them before leaving!
- Southbank Centre Winter Festival – Christmas fair by the Thames? Oh yeah!
- Skate at Somerset House – perfect for date night!
- Winterville – this one will be right next to the London Fields Sunday market where I go every Sunday, so I’ll definitely visit this one as well!
- Christmas at Kew Gardens – I’ve never been at Kew Gardens so hopefully I’ll go there before leaving.
- Winter Wonderland – the most magnificent Christmas fair, it would be a sin to miss it!
