Since the moment you decide to start your own business, you will face a lot of doubts and you must know how to stay motivated all the time. I know this from my own experience. However, during those couple of years of being a solo-entrepreneur, I figured out how to fight those demotivational moments and keep myself going even when I’m full of doubts. Learn how to stay motivated when running a biz!
Track Your Progress
One of the best ways to stay motivated is to track the progress in achieving your goals. Know what you must accomplish by certain timeframes and keep up with that plan. Once you’ll get started, track your progress, write a journal or have the timeframe on the wall. It’s important to always know what your next step is, where it leads to and how much you already accomplished.
Celebrate Every Victory
The most important goals, usually, aren’t achievable in a short-time but when it takes a few or more years to see the final result, it’s truly hard to stay motivated. That’s why I want you to celebrate every victory! You must make the journey to your goal pleasant and satisfying. Besides, the feeling of accomplishment is a wonderful accelerator for motivation.
Be Aware of Your Downtimes
Another way to stay motivated when running your business is being aware of your downtimes. Only you know yourself best and can feel when you’re about to lose motivation. You need to track your motivation levels, find out what situations make you lose motivation and prevent those downtimes beforehand.
Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People
Another great way to stay motivated is to surround yourself with like-minded people. They should have goals similar to the ones you have. This way, you both could support each other and help with breakdowns of demotivation. You can find those people by participating in local events where people like you gather. It’s good to have someone who understands what you’re going through and can help you to stay on track.
Just Be Persistent
Persistence, just like motivation, is incredibly important when running a business without unnecessary pauses. However, being persistent isn’t easy, that’s why I wrote a post about persistence some time ago. The main point is, you must always remind yourself what and why you’re doing and never let yourself to stop.
These are the main rules I follow to keep myself motivated when running a business on my own. I hope they’ll help you stay motivated as well because this is one of the key parts of making your business successful.
