How to Be Persistent?

It’s easy to have a dream, whether it’s to travel often, have your dream home, write a book or anything else. However, when it comes to working on those dreams to come true we often get stuck at some point. If we’re not persistent, we stay at that same point forever. I’m not an exception but gladly I figured out how to be persistent and want to share these tips with you guys!

Why You Started

First of all, if you want to be persistent, you must remember why you started reaching that particular goal and remind yourself this occasionally. Motivation is the main drive that makes you persistent but when you’re working on long-term goals it’s natural that you lose motivation after some time. The best way to keep yourself motivated is to have your goals written in a notebook or on a piece of paper where you would see them quite often. You need to wake up with your goals in your mind and go to sleep thinking about them. You need to remind yourself what and why you’re aiming for every single day. This is one of the best habits you can develop to be persistent.

Work Consistently

Another aspect of being persistent is working on your goals not only when you want to but every day, consistently, without exceptions. A lot of people struggle to achieve their goals because they wait for the inspiration, for the right mood or something else. Well, if you want to actually achieve your goals, you must work hard consistently. Another way, you might never make your dreams come true.

This is where you need to develop another habit. You need to decide how much time and effort you’re going to put into working on your goals every day and stick to that. No skipped days, no “I don’t want to do this”, no more hesitations. Just work consistently and you will see the results.

Deadlines and Milestones

The third thing that helps to keep you persistent is having deadlines and milestones. When you’re working without a plan, you might know where it’ll lead you but you won’t know when. That’s why it’s important not only to have a list of tasks you have to do in order to achieve your goal but also decide when these tasks need to be done. The joy of achievement even a small part of your main goal will help you to be motivated and not to lose passion. Also, celebrations of milestones is a great way to remind yourself what you’re aiming for, prove yourself that you can and keep you persistent.

To have a goal isn’t enough, if you truly want it you must work on it and to do so you need to be persistent. Make sure you remind yourself what and why you’re reaching, work on your goals consistently and celebrate the milestones. You can achieve anything you want, remember this and never stop. I believe in you, friend.

Besides, how do you keep yourself persistent?
